Many people find it challenging to work out at home because they don’t have enough space. But if you have a small area, you can still work out and you’ll be able to do things like finding a jump rope. This way you can turn your home into a gym.

Sadly, you won’t find many people willing to admit that they’re not exercising enough, despite the fact that most people want to be healthier. The good news is that you have the power to change that by making small changes to your daily life that add up to big results. One of the best exercises you can do to benefit your health is jumping rope. Jumping rope can help you burn calories, build muscle, and strengthen your cardiovascular system, while also increasing your agility and endurance.

This morning, I dug out the old jump rope and performed a 20-minute jump rope bodyweight exercise.

There were only four bodyweight exercises:

  1. Rope jumping
  2. Push ups
  3. Russian twists that are well-balanced
  4. Squats using the whole body

I’ve been jumping rope for a while and have reached the point where I can really change how I jump rope!

The first few steps are the most challenging, but it’s a talent that’s a lot of fun to master.

Practice makes perfect, and you’ll be looking like a young Mike Tyson with your rope in no time!

Bodyweight Jump Rope Workout

Jump rope, push ups, Russian twists, and body squats are some of the exercises you may do.

I’ve included some short instructional films below to help you make sure your form is proper.

Rope jumps:

Push ups:

Squats with the body:

Russian detours:

It should take you no more than 20 minutes to complete the exercise.

You’ll need a jump rope, your bodyweight, and enough floor space to accommodate your length and the ability to swing a jump rope. You may use an exercise mat if you have one, but it isn’t required.

What you’ll do: You’ll just do five sets. Each set comprises of two and a half minutes of jumping rope, 35 push-ups, 50 Russian twists, and 15 body squats. I used a ten-pound weight that I carried in my palms for Russian twists. If this is too difficult, try it without the weight.

Depending on your fitness level, take a 30–60 second break between sets.

Conclusion

It’s amazing how well a jump rope can be incorporated into a bodyweight exercise.
